...unemployment falls in October - CharlotteObserver.com

Click for information on NC and SC counties: Charlotte unemployment falls in October - CharlotteObserver.com: "The Charlotte area's unemployment rate fell again in October, according to data released Tuesday by the N.C. Employment Security Commission.
The region's jobless rate fell to 10.2 percent from a seasonally adjusted 10.6 percent, its lowest level since January 2009. Mecklenburg County's unemployment rate dropped to 9.8 percent from a seasonally adjusted 9.9 percent in September, the ESC data show.
Statewide, jobless rates declined in 66 of North Carolina's 100 counties in October, rising in 18 and staying flat in 16. Yet one-third of the counties' rates remained above 10 percent in October, and there were still nearly 409,000 people unemployed across the state. In addition, experts have said the declines might be due more to discouraged job-seekers dropping out of the search than actual job growth."
