CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Plenty of people are turning up their heat. A merger of the two North Carolina Energy companies could mean lower bills, at least short term.Charlotte-based Duke Energy could announce a merger deal with Raleigh-based Progess Enegry as early as January 10, 2011 however Duke is not commenting.
If this merge happens, it would create one of the nations largest utilities one which would be good for Charlotte.
