York County, SC York, Chester counties plan Memorial Day weekend tributes The Herald - Rock Hill, SC: "York, Chester counties plan Memorial Day weekend tributesYork and Chester counties are holding public events over the Memorial Day weekend to honor military members who died in wars.Service groups will host the annual program for the families of fallen veterans at 4 p.m. Sunday at Lakeview Memory Gardens on U.S. 321 between York and Clover. The service will be at the county monument to war dead located at the cemetery. Guest speakers are Col. Buddy Holbert, a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, and Purple Heart honoree Butch Glenn.
Chester County hosts its annual Memorial Day recognition service at the monuments at 11 a.m. Monday in front of the War Memorial building, 154 Main St., Chester. Veterans from all the armed forces will be honored.The Marine Corps League of Chester is selling bricks with veterans' names on them for display among the war dead monuments. Bricks are $100 for two - one brick stays in the display, the other can be taken home. For information, call 803-377-3240"
